Why you must embrace self-acceptance?
Most people do not accept themselves as they are. They also allow others' opinions to influence what they accept in their lives. Excessive criticism, both internally and externally, suppresses self-worth. As we know, our own value is the basis of the strength of our character. Moreover, our character shapes our actions, and our actions shape our lives.
Self-acceptance is a critical component of our existence. When we do not accept ourselves as we are, the unacceptable part of ourselves becomes our enemy - the enemy within ourselves, the enemy from which we will not escape, an enemy that can destroy us from the inside.
The absence of self-acceptance impacts our self-esteem and can lead to significant health issues over time. It's like we're programming our self-destruction. We are the architects and fuel of this destructive program, and finally, it will turn against us. Psychologically, it can manifest as a lack of confidence in making crucial decisions. Physically, it can lead to various health problems that slowly manifest in our bodies.
We become stronger and better by accepting everything in ourselves that we cannot change. The whole of our personality works in our favor, there is no inner enemy that could destroy us from the inside. Self-acceptance allows our mind and body to work to our advantage, all our body cells work for us, and there are no destructive programs.
I am not saying that everything in our lives and ourselves is acceptable. There are some things that we should change for the better. But before we start criticizing ourselves or starting to change, we should consider whether this change is good for us. For example, whether changing specific eating habits will be good for us, ending certain relationships with some people, changing jobs to another one...
Some changes are necessary, some will not change anything, and some will worsen everything - the most important thing is a wise and conscious approach to change. For example, is this change good for me? Am I not losing on my inner values by applying this change to my life? Most importantly, what I gain by changing certain things in my life or in my actions.
By applying positive changes to our lives, we take care of ourselves. By accepting negative criticism from others that does not positively impact us and our lives, we care about the interests of others. Let's remember that we can only take care of ourselves - no one else will do it for us. Other people from our outer circle will only care for their interests.
Ensuring positive changes in our lives and introducing them wisely leads to positive life and development. We should pay close attention to external and internal criticism because not every criticism is a correction that leads to beneficial changes.
Accepting ourselves wisely and healthily builds inner strength that will allow us to build better character and better lives. Working on internal criticism is more important than external criticism because nothing will threaten us from the outside if we are strong inside. It's like with ships - they only sink when water gets inside. We are the ones who have to make sure that no external negative criticism gets inside. Internal consistency will guarantee us an excellent and easy life.
Dear readers, I hope you will always be able to distinguish between what you should accept in yourself and what you should change - in a wise and healthy way. Accepting ourselves as we are - is a huge success that only a few achieve.
