Is happiness a choice?
Happiness is different for each individual. Each person will understand happiness through something different. For some, it will be a beautiful house or a new car; for others, it will be peace in the comfort of their home. Most people see their happiness through the prism of their deficiencies. What I mean is they think, "I am unhappy now, but when I have this or that, I will be happy," - not appreciating what they have now.
When we constantly compare ourselves to others and focus on what we lack, we diminish our ability to appreciate what we already have. True happiness is not found in external possessions; it is an internal state of being. The more we focus on what we lack, the more we lose sight of the abundance surrounding us, leading to endless dissatisfaction.
The modern world has constructed an illusion of external happiness, a mirage that constantly lures us with promises of new and better things. But this pursuit is a never-ending cycle, a futile attempt to fill a bottomless void. New cars, bigger houses, and trendier clothes will always be on the horizon, leaving us perpetually dissatisfied and always wanting more.
The modern world and the external environment constantly motivate us to be happy if we have a new car or new clothes because old ones don't bring happiness anymore. All the time, this builds in us the belief that our happiness depends on external factors - and in reality, this is an illusion, and only we can ensure our happiness from the inside.
Inner harmony, self-satisfaction, contentment with what you do, and enjoyment from being with your family build true inner happiness - it is not an illusion. All the things that can't be bought, like love, friendship, and joy, are the proper forms of inner happiness. Let's remember that the price can only be attached to things that are an illusion of the consumer world because true inner happiness cannot be bought.
Ultimately, happiness is a choice between true inner happiness and the illusion of external satisfaction. By choosing the path of true inner happiness, you're taking control of your own well-being. You're not letting the external world dictate your happiness. Instead, you're finding fulfillment in your own inner harmony, self-satisfaction, and contentment with your life and relationships.
However, by choosing the path of true external happiness, you have the opportunity to be truly happy. But inner happiness must be based on you, not other external factors. You can achieve true inner happiness by working on yourself through inner satisfaction with your job, delight with your existence, and joy from being with your family. Inner joy, love, happiness, and contentment are the things we should work on.
This is the path to happiness, and this is your own choice to be happy...
